Mr. Iftikhar Husain Arif, President and Dr. Hafez Jabbari, Executive Director of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) met with Mr. Seyed Mohammad Nazem Razavi, Mayor of Kashan, members of the Kashan City Council, Deputy-Governor and a number of authorities on Thursday, 19 December 2013 in Kashan.
Speaking on establishment of "ECO House" in the city, the Mayor of Kashan stated that : " to introduce cultural and tourist attractions of the ECO countries, the Kashan Municipality plans to dedicate a center to ECO . "
" The center will provide an opportunity for the ECO Member States to promote their cultural ties and Kashan may explore a sister city relationship with the cities in the region." He added.
While expressing his gratitude for the initiative, Mr. Iftikhar Husain Arif, President of the ECI said: " The Center will prepare the ground for further expansion of cultural activities of the ECO Member States . "
"The cultural and historical background of cities such as Kashan inspires the ECO Cultural Institute to organize special programs for introducing their cultural heritage to the other nations. " He continued .
Dr. Jabbari, Executive Director of the ECI also stated that:" launching a center for ECO in Kashan is an interesting initiative which could be implemented in the other cities of all the ECO Member States."
He further expressed the Institute's willingness for expansion of cooperation with Kashan authorities and added: "promotion and development of relations for strengthening and reservation of common cultural heritage in the ECO region is highly considered."
At the end, the President and the Executive Director of the ECO Cultural Institute paid a visit to cultural and historical monuments of Kashan.
