ECO International Painting and Illustration Exhibition Kicked off
An international exhibition of painting and illustration on ECO region, was held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 by ECO Cultural Institute in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts of Al-Zahra University and Iran's Visual Arts Association, attended by a group of ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, artists and academicians at the Diplomatic Gallery of ECO Cultural Institute.

Ambassadors from countries of Spain, Mexico, Chile and Algeria, along with representatives from Slovenia, Uruguay, Japan, Serbia, China, Turkmenistan and Deputy Secretary-General of Economic Cooperation Organization, were present at the ceremony, ECI Public Relations reported.

 

In his remarks, Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri, president of ECO Cultural Institute, indicated painting and illustration as a global language and instrument to establish relations among the world nations and stated: "It will be possible to reach the goal through creating opportunities for the exchange of ideas and experiences among artists."

"Holding international exhibition of painting and illustration on ECO Region is a step forward in the direction," he continued.

Dr. Mazaheri also described the scope of the exhibition and said: "Holding the exhibition, on the one hand, provides the ground for introducing this art nurturing region at the international level and, on the other hand, creates a positive interaction between the three generations of artists from the countries of the region with other countries."

Dr. Fatemeh Kateb, Head of the Faculty of Arts at Al-Zahra University, also thanked ECI President for organizing the exhibition and said: "Art can bring all human beings together because I believe that art has a significant influence on human life." Also, Dr. Shad, Head of Iran's Visual Arts Association, appreciated the attempts made by the Institute for holding the exhibition and affirmed: "The region and the cultural heritage it embraces can set a model to build a strong art union."

The exhibition featuring over 50 artworks from 11 countries held by ECO Cultural Institute in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts of Al-Zahra University and Iran's Visual Arts Association will run until April 22 at ECI Diplomatic Gallery.
