On Monday July 1, 2019, Ahmad Hosseinzadegan, governor of Mazandaran province, met with Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Mazaheri, ECI president, at the headquarters of this international organization.
According to ECI public relations, at the meeting, where Abbas Mohammad Nejad, the secretary of ECOMU was present, Dr. Mazaheri talked about the potentials of this international organization in using different areas of arts, culture, sports and tourism and expressed hope that hosting of ECO ambassadors by Mazandaran governorship in the near future would pave the way for the attainment of this province to its true position among the ECO member states.
Also at the meeting, Ahmad Hosseinzadegan, Mazandaran governor, welcomed the viewpoints expressed by the ECI president and underscored: "Unfortunately, the subject of attracting foreign tourists, particularly from the northern neighboring countries, to Mazandaran province has been neglected during the recent years. We hope that with the collaboration of ECI, Mazandaran province would turn into the capital of tourism in ECO region".
Next, Abbas Mohammad Nejad, the secretary of ECOMU, presented a brief report on the latest developments regarding the meeting of heads of ECO state televisions and expressed gratitude to Mazandaran province for proposing to host this meeting.
