On Sunday January 12, 2020, Sarvar Bakhti, the ECI president, met with H.E. Derya Ors, the Turkish ambassador in Tehran.
According to ECI public relations, at the meeting the two sides emphasized upon the cultural commonalities of the region and discussed issues of mutual interest.
While enumerating the cultural commonalities of the region in the areas of literature, poetry, music and written heritage, Sarvar Bakhti offered some proposals for joint cooperation.
Further at the meeting, the Turkish ambassador welcomed the proposals by the new ECI president and said: "when a nation registers a regional commonality in its own name, it will deprive itself of the accompaniment of millions of other people."
The meeting concluded with the two sides underscoring the need for strengthening cooperation in cultural fields.
