On Sunday January 19, 2020, Sarvar Bakhti, the ECI President, met and talked with H.E. Bunyad Huseynov, Azerbaijan ambassador to Iran.
According to ECI public relations, at the meeting, the president of the ECO Cultural Institute highlighted the important position of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the region and called for more involvement of this country in the cultural programs of the Institute. "The Republic of Azerbaijan has a rich history, a great deal of commonalities with the countries of the region and a good record of coopeartion with the ECO Cultural Institute in the past", said Bakhti.
He went on saying that culture is the key to the convergence of the countries in the region and during this period, we expect the participation of all member countries, especially the Republic of Azerbaijan, in organizing cultural weeks of the countries and music events.
Further at the meeting, H.E. Bunyad Huseynov, Azerbaijan ambassador to Iran, congratulated Sarvar Bakhti on his appointment and said: "Just like the past, the Republic of Azerbaijan and its embassy stands by the Institute and will further expand its cooperation in areas of common interest."
The meeting concluded with the two sides emphasizing on devising and organizing joint programs in areas of interest.
