'Member State's Co-op with ECI Gives Them Sense of Belonging', ECI President
On Sunday January 19, 2020, Sarvar Bakhti, the ECI president, met and talked with H.E. Abdulghafoor Liwal, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

According to ECI public relations, at the meeting the ECI president pointed to the position of Afghanistan at ECI and reminded that Afghanistan is one of the member states actively cooperating with ECI and as a regional institute, ECI has the priorities of its full members in the field of culture on the agenda. Bakthi went on saying that with the collaboration of the member countries, the Institute has turned into the home of all the member states which will feel a sense of belonging to the Institute.
Further at the meeting, H.E. Abdulghafoor Liwal, the Afghanistan Ambassador, welcomed the ECI president and said he believes that his presidency will result in positive developments in both ECI's approach and program planning and will bring the member countries closer together. "Political developments among the nations should not adversely affect their cultural relations or plans in the field and ECI could play such role", he added.
The meeting concluded with the two sides discussing joint programs and new ideas.
