Tashkent Photographer's House hosted the launching ceremony of the illustrated book 'The First Uzbek Photographer and Cameraman' published at the initiative of the Islam Karimov Foundation.
The ceremony was held on the occasion of the 82nd birth anniversary of Islam Karimov, the founder of Uzbekistan's independence and the country's first president.
According to ECI public relations quoting kultura.uz, the book has been written by the renowned Uzbek scholar, Naim Karimov, in Russian and Uzbek languages on the life and works of Khudoybergan Devonov (1879-1938), the first Uzbek photographer and the founder of Uzbekistan cinema.
