After years of effort by the elites of Mazandaran, the Encyclopedia of Tabarestan and Mazandaran was published.
According to ECI public relations quoting IRNA, the great Encyclopedia of Mazandaran has been published under the supervision of Jahangir Nasri Ashrafi in 5 volumes. The collection is the first comprehensive encyclopedia of Mazandaran compiled by more than 1200 authors and scholars in around a decade and will soon be released by Ney publications.
The first volume is an introduction elaborating upon the specifications of the encyclopedia; the second one includes chapters on history, local tribes, natural geography and environment, archeology and architecture. The third volume of the encyclopedia discusses different provinces and cities, administrative, educational, cultural and economic systems as well as the renowned personalities of the region. The fourth volume comprises of chapters on culture and anthropology in the area of tangible and intangible culture and the fifth volume cover topics on language, literature, music, media, communications and other topics.
The scope of the encyclopedia's information covers different areas using Tabari language such as Golestan, Alborz, Tehran, Gilan, Ghazvin and Mazandaran provinces which is praiseworthy in its own kind.
