Ten Thousand Petroglyph Motifs Found in Iran's Meshkin Shahr
The Head of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism department of Meshgin Shahr announced that sites with more than ten thousand petroglyphs have been found across this city's suburbs.

According to ECI public relations quoting IRNA, Imani said the petroglyphs belong to Bronze Age to the Historic times and added: Customs and traditions and beliefs of these eons of time and the historical significance of some animals in farming, war and etc. have been reflected in these petroglyphs.
Meshgin Shahr province is located 90 kilometers north-south of Ardabil and contains several historical monuments including Qahaqheh Fortress, Qanli Bulaq Caravanserai, Seyed Soleiman Fakhrabad tomb, Kohneh Qala, few ancient baths and hot water springs.
Moreover, the archaeological site known as Yeri city and graveyard containing tens of ancient grave stones dating to 8000 years are located in this province.
