Ashgabat to Open Modern Carpet Museum
Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Chamber of Commerce has set intentions to produce 1650 square meters of carpets and respective products annually.

According to ECI public relations quoting Iran-Turkmenistan Joint Chamber of Commerce website, the production center will be constructed by experts on the site of an old carpet factory built in the mid-20th century following the devastating 1948 earthquake in Ashgabat.
The new building shall provide all necessary conditions for 200 carpet weavers and handmade carpets will be produced in a workshop covering an area of 1000 square meters.
According to the complex manager, the carpet store will be located on the first floor with the theater, conference hall and administrative offices on the second floor. There will also be a laboratory for dyeing the raw materials and their storage.
Other modern carpet production sites will soon open in Akhal, Dash Aghuz, Mari and Lebap provinces.
