"The professionals of the field in Iran and Pakistan are well working on the project of making Iqbal's film; however, the assistance and willingness of governments contributes to the advancement of this great project and the acceleration of its progress", he said.
In his remarks, Sarvar Bakhti, the ECI president, also expressed gratitude to the CEO of Farabi Cinema Foundation for presenting a report on the joint project of making Iqbal's film by 'two founding members of ECO Cultural Institute' and emphasized: "In line with our mission to promote the common cultural heritage of the peoples of the ECO region to the world, we will do our best to make this important cultural project happen."

Elsewhere at the meeting, H.E. Mr. Rahim Hayat Qureshi, the Ambassador of Pakistan, appreciated the President of the ECO Cultural Institute for his support and thanked Farabi Cinema Foundation for their cooperation in advancing the project. He further expressed readiness to facilitate the production of this film and said: "Pakistan and Iran governments are evidently very willing to accomplish this significant cultural project."
Iqbal Lahori's film is in pre-production stage, and Bahram Tavakoli, the Iranian director, has been assigned with the task of writing the script and directing of the film.
It is worth mentioning that supporting the production of joint movies between ECO member states is one of the main programs on the agenda of Sarvar Bakhti during this period of the administration of ECO Cultural Institute. To this end, ECI has taken several steps during the last seven months which include holding this meeting to coordinate the production of Iqbal's film, launching of the screenplay of 'Aydeniz' movie as the first joint product of all the ECO member countries and also completing the writing of the screenplay of the movie 'Shi Ni' as the first joint product of the three Persian-speaking countries (Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan).
