The Football Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan announced that it has reached an agreement with Canni de Byazi to lead the team.
According to ECO Cultural Institute quoting Varzesh 3, Canni de Byazi, the former coach of teams such as Levante and Alaves, has been officially appointed as the new coach of Azerbaijan national team.
The name of de Byazi have so far been mentioned several times as an option to lead Esteghlal, Persepolis and the national Iranian football team; however, the Italian coach will finally work in Iran's neighborhood. Following Branco's departure from Persepolis, de Byazi was suggested as his successor, but eventually, Gabriel Calderon took over the team's leadership. De Byzai did not replace Andre Stramaccioni either and he didn't lead any Iranian team at the end.
Canni de Byazi became more popular during the Euro 2016 competitions when Italian coach brought the lesser-known Albanian national team to the prestigious competition for the first time.
