Uzbekistan-Afghanistan Cooperation to Restore Ali-Shir Nava’i’s Shrine
On the eve of the 500th birth anniversary of Ali-Shir Nava’i, an Uzbek delegation announced their cooperation in restoring the tomb of the prominent poet, writer and philosopher in Herat province.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting IRNA News Agency, during a visit to Herat province of Afghanistan, a high-ranking Uzbek delegation named Amir Ali-Shir Nava’i, a prominent poet of the ninth century AH, as a common heritage and a bridge between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan; and announced the participation of these two countries in the restoration of his tomb in Herat.
“We want to renovate the tomb of Amir Ali-Shir Nava’i and its surroundings”, said Abdul Ghafoor, head of the Uzbek delegation. We also plan to celebrate his 580th birth anniversary with Afghanistan.
