The historic city of Safranbolu, which preserves Ottoman architecture to this day, was inscribed on the UNESCO Worlds Heritage List on December 17, 1994.
The Golden Saffron Documentary Film Festival started in 2000 with the aim of introducing this cultural heritage and preserving it in the best possible way.
