Tourists Welcome Sledding on the Frozen Lake Çıldır
Tourists and winter sports enthusiasts experience an unforgettable vacation by sledding on the frozen Lake Çıldır in eastern Anatolia, Turkey.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Anadolu News Agency, with the cold weather and snowfall in the eastern Anatolia region of Turkey, the surface of Lake Çıldır which is located between Kars and Ardahan provinces, is frozen; and tourists and winter recreation enthusiasts, enjoy sledding and walking around.
Lake Çıldır is the second largest lake in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey after Lake Van, and its surface is completely frozen due to the temperature in this region reaching minus 20 degrees.
They camp for a short time around the lake and enjoy beautiful scenery such as the reflection of the sky on the frozen lake while drinking tea.
“The blue lake has created a beautiful landscape among the whitewashed areas”, said Taner Güneş, a visitor to Lake Çıldır. Today, the ice on the surface of the lake is very clear and the bottom of the lake is visible. A week ago, the surface of Lake Çıldır was frozen. We got to experience it today and we will immortalize this pure moment by taking photos.
Güneş also invited everyone to see these beautiful landscapes, saying that the moment of sunrise and sunset is unforgettable here.
It is worth mentioning that Lake Çıldır is located between Ardahan and Kars provinces and is the largest source of fresh water and the second largest lake in the Eastern Anatolia region of Turkey with an area of 123 square kilometers.
