Zarif: Iran Ready to Cooperate with Tajikistan, Afghanistan in Cultural Program
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif highlighted the importance of cooperation between Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan in the creation of convergence and stability in the region and announced Iran’s readiness to cooperate within the framework of an operational program.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, during a trilateral meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan on the sidelines of the “Heart of Asia” conference in Dushanbe, while emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the three countries in creating convergence and stability in the region, Mohammad Javad Zarif announced Iran’s readiness to start cultural cooperation in the form of an operational plan.
Expressing respect for Iran’s rich culture, the Tajik Foreign Minister called the cultural commonalities of the three countries of Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan a supreme example of regional convergence, and recalled the ancient ritual of Nowruz and proposed joint cultural programs between the three countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, while appreciating the common views of the three countries on regional issues, announced his readiness to pursue economic, cultural and political cooperation between the three countries based on a single operational roadmap.
