A Peak in Badakhshan Named after Tajik Scientist
In the province of Badakhshan, Tajikistan, a peak was named after academician Rahim Masov, a Tajik scientist.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, quoting Khavar News Agency, formerly named after Leningrad State University, this peak is now renamed Rahim Masov.
 
Rahim Masov was the director of the Institute of History, Archeology, and Anthropology of the Tajik Academy of Sciences from 1988 to 2015. He is the author of more than 500 scientific works. Masov was awarded the Spitamen, Friendship, and President Star (Tajikistan), the Abu Ali Ibn Sina Prize, and the Unity Star. Masov died in 2018 in Dushanbe.
