Azerbaijan Ambassador: Culture Could Be a Powerful Device to Promote Friendship and Brotherhood
“ECO countries enjoy an ancient culture. I believe that culture could be a powerful device to promote friendship and brotherhood.” Said Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Tehran, H.E.Abbasali Hasanev in his meeting with ECI President, Dr. Rajabi on June 25, 2009.
Dr. Rajabi, praised the great culture of Azerbaijan and said the country is famous for its rich music.
“ECI plans to nominate Baku as the ECO’s Music Capital and organize joint concerts here in Tehran.” He announced.
Azeri Ambassador pointed out that music is highly valued.” Traditional music is one of important commonalities between ECO countries. In Azerbaijan, a great number of projects have been carried out to keep the music alive.”
With regard to Azerbaijan being one of ECI’s signatory members since 1995, the Ambassador said he was hopeful that his country ratifies ECI’s charter and promised to follow up the issue with the related authorities.
