“ECO Cultural Institute statement was read out in International section at the closing ceremony of 27th Fajr Film Festival”. ECI public relations reported.
In the statement, ECI expressed its hope that a separate section entitled to ECO Films will be envisaged in the coming festivals which will present ECO region capacities in film industry and a special prize will be awarded to the selected films.
Following MoUs inked between ECI and Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and in order to support film industry in ECO countries, the Institute has been actively participating in regional festivals. The ECO Film Award which is a crystal statue along with 3000$ in cash is a fine example of ECI recent activities in this field although the prized wasn’t awarded at the last festival due to the absence of most ECO countries but Turkey and Afghanistan. Active participation of ECO countries in the next festival was stressed in ECI statement.
