ECI President Announces Full Support for Iranian Female Mountaineer
On Sunday, June 20, 2021, Sarvar Bakhti, the President of the ECO Cultural Institute, met with Rashin Jahanbazi, a prominent Iranian mountaineer, at this international organization.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute; in this meeting, which was held in the presence of Ruhollah Akbari, head of the “climbing the five peaks of the Palang-e Barfi” project, Rashin Jahanbazi, while presenting a report to the president of the ECO Cultural Institute on her plan to climb the Korzhenevskaya peak with a height of 7105 m and the Samani peak with a height of 7495 m in Tajikistan, emphasized: “I will be the first Iranian woman to climb the highest peaks of Tajikistan to announce the message of friendship between nations.”
She also appreciated the support provided by Sepahan Club in carrying out this historic climb and said: “Meeting with Mr. Sarvar Bakhti also motivated me to perform this difficult climb.”
At the end of her speech, Rashin Jahanbazi expressed hope that having done the climb, she would raise the flag of the ECO Cultural Institute in the highest peaks of Tajikistan as a sign of friendship between the nations of the region.
Mr. Sarvar Bakhti, during his speech, praised the determination and motivation of Rashin Jahanbazi in performing these historic ascents and emphasized: "ECO Cultural Institute has declared its full support for this sports and cultural movement and will stand by Rashin. Jahanbazi in order to achieve this unifying action among the people of the region.
At the end of this meeting, the President of the ECO Cultural Institute expressed hope that the ascent would be a prelude to the joint ascents of female mountaineers from all ECO member countries in the near future.
It is worth mentioning that this meeting was held within the framework of the memorandum concluded between ECO Cultural Institute and Sepahan Sports Club to expand sports diplomacy in order to promote friendship between ECO nations.
