New Iranian Foreign Minister Seeks Better Relations with Neighbors
Dr. Amir Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a speech to the Ambassadors and Heads of Missions residing in Tehran, underlined the pillars of the foreign policy of the new government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, following is the excerpts of the speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran:
We insist on sending this message to the whole world that our foreign policy is shaped on a balanced basis. Hence, we seek to strengthen our relations with neighboring countries. This will be one of our major priorities and there can be no exceptions.
The Asian continent, in the 21st century, has unique features and the emergence of economic powers has created new opportunities for Asia and the world.
We consider dialogue with the countries of the region as a principle and we consider intra-regional dialogues as a way to manage the current situation in the region.
The President attaches special importance to foreign relations, foreign policy and diplomacy, and welcomes any initiative that contributes to the development of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and every country in the world.
