"Glorious Yalda" at ECO Cultural Institute
ECO Cultural Institute, in cooperation with the Public Diplomacy Center of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Iranian Association of Cultural Works and Honors, and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tehran, organized the "Glorious Yalda Night" ceremony on Tuesday, December 21, 2022, at the ECI’s headquarters.
According to the ECO Cultural Institute, the President of the ECO Cultural Institute, the ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan in Tehran, the chargé d'affaires of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in Tehran, the head of the Iranian Association of Cultural Works and Honors, managers and experts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the President and professors of Allameh Tabataba'i University, cultural consultants of ECO member countries and diplomats together with some Iranian and Afghan cultural and literary figures residing in Tehran participated in the event.
 
H.E. Murodjon Buriboev, the President of ECO Cultural Institute, Dr. Mahmoud Shalouie, the Head of the Iranian Association of Cultural Works and Honors, Mr. Soleimani, the chargé d'affaires of the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Tehran, Dr. Motamedi, President of Allameh Tabataba'i University were among the main speakers of the Glorious Yalda ceremony. Also, the message of the honorable spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran was read by Mr. Shahidi Kia, the head of the Persian Language Development Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
 
During the ceremony, the book "Nart Nameh", which contains mythological narratives, legends and epics of the Iranian people, and is translated from Asi to Persian by Dr. Abdollahi and Ms. Moradi, in cooperation with the North Ossetia University, was launched. Also, the audience actively participated in the ceremonies reading poems from Hafez and other poets reviving the traditions of Yalda.
 
Music performance, handicrafts exhibition from ECO member countries, and an Afghan Yalda table all embellished this year's "Glorious Yalda" ceremony.
