An exhibition, “Mom’s Scarf”, opened at the Gallery of Fine Arts of Uzbekistan as part of the Fourth International Biennale of Applied Arts. The project’s author is an artist from Kazakhstan, art curator, and gallery owner Leyla Mahat.
Leyla Mahat (Makhatova) is an Associate Professor of the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Kazakh National University of Arts. She is also a Doctor of Philosophy in Fine Arts and Chairperson of the Curatorial Board of Contemporary Art Center “Kulanshi”. Her works are stored in many foreign countries.
“I am glad to participate in the International Biennale of Applied Arts in Tashkent”, said Leyla Mahat at the exhibition’s opening ceremony. “Through this creative project, we wanted to show a woman’s love and a caring attitude towards her, preserving women’s love”
