Message of the President
ECO Cultural Institute (ECI)
It is with profound honor and a deep sense of responsibility that I assume the Presidency of the ECO Cultural Institute. I extend my greetings to the governments and institutions of our Member States, and to every poet, scholar, artist, and traveler of the spirit who keeps alive the cultural flame of our region.
The ECO region rests upon a rich civilizational heritage, cultivated over millennia. From the plains of the Indus to those of Anatolia, across the mountains of the karakoram and Pamir, the deserts of Persia, and along the shores of the Caspian, our lands bear the memory of civilizations that have shaped human thought, art, and creativity. The languages we speak, the melodies we inherit, and the stories passed through generations are living streams that continue to nourish our identity and bind us together.
I envision ECI as a crossroads where tradition meets imagination, and where the diverse cultures of our region rise together like strands of a single woven tapestry. We will illuminate forgotten paths, revive timeless arts, empower young voices, and celebrate the harmony that lies at the heart of our differences.
In the years ahead, we will strengthen cooperation across borders, support cultural institutions and heritage custodians, and create new spaces for dialogue — literary, artistic, academic, and digital. Our mission is to ensure that the cultural wealth of the ECO region is preserved, celebrated, and allowed to flourish anew.
I invite all who cherish wisdom, beauty, and human connection to join us in this endeavor. Together, let us rekindle the lights of our shared heritage so that our region may shine as a beacon of creativity, understanding, and peace.
With heartfelt regards,
Muhammad Hassan
President
