An exhibition of tourism and applied arts of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran has opened in the Exhibition Hall of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan.
The exhibition showcases unique items of traditional folk crafts, handmade artistic products, national heritage, and contemporary directions of Turkmen and Iranian art masters. On the occasion of the opening of this specialized exhibition, representatives of tourism organizations of Turkmenistan discussed with their Iranian colleagues prospects for cooperation.
Turkmenistan and Iran share common cultural and historical roots, as well as a common border. Both countries have numerous historical monuments that are attractive for tourists to visit.
For example, in the province of Gulistan, Iran, in the village of Aktokay (White Forest), there are graves of Magtymguly Pyragy and his father, a Turkmen poet and scientist.
