His Excellency Saad S. Khan, the President of the ECO Cultural Institute, met with Seyed Hassan Khomeyni, at the Imam Khomeyni Shrine in Tehran on 13 December 2023.
During the meeting, the sides discussed various issues of mutual interest, such as the role of culture and religion in promoting peace and stability in the region, and the need for strengthening cultural ties and exchanges among the ECO countries.
Khan expressed his admiration for the legacy of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and praised his grandson, Seyed Hassan Khomeyni, for his contributions to Iranian society.
Seyed Hassan Khomeyni, who is currently caretaker of the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini, thanked Dr Khan for his visit and appreciated his efforts to promote the ECO Cultural Institute's activities and programs.
He also highlighted the importance of the ECO as a regional organization that fosters cooperation and solidarity among its members, especially in the field of culture. He expressed his hope that the ECO Cultural Ministers Meeting would result in fruitful outcomes and initiatives that would benefit the people of the ECO region and beyond.
