The ECO Cultural Institute hosted "Golden Nights", an exhibition of calligraphy painting (Persian: Negarine Khat) on February 29, 2024, showcasing the masterpieces of the renowned Iranian calligraphy master, Mr. Abbas Rahimi.
The event attended by diplomatic and cultural officials, art professors, and enthusiasts of calligraphy and painting, began with reading of a message from Dr. Saad Khan, ECI President. In his message, Mr. Khan praised the art of Mr. Rahimi in painting and calligraphy and expressed his hope that such events will encourage the artists of the ECO region to have further effective communication through networking.
The next speaker at the ceremony was Mr. Yadullah Kabuli. He highlighted that Iranians possess the most valuable historical treasures in art. He praised the taste and genius of Iranian artists and their significant role in art societies, exhibitions, and museums worldwide. Referring to his student, Mr. Rahimi, he expressed that he is a skilled improviser and trustworthy in the geometry of calligraphy.
During his speech, Mr. Rahimi praised the ECO Cultural Institute for organizing the event. He reminisced about old memories and paid tribute to his masters, including Master Kabui.
During the cultural event, attendees enjoyed a live music performance and a Shahnameh reading by a young artist. Additionally, a portrait of Master Rahimi was unveiled, which had been painted on a panel during the ceremony.
The ceremony concluded with a visit to Master Rahimi’s exhibition of calligraphy paintings.
The exhibition is open to the public until Thursday, March 7, 2024.
