In 1951-1950, he was the editor of the newspaper "Pioneer of Tajikistan", in 1951-1954, the editor of the monthly "Pioneer of Tajikistan", in 1954-1970 in the State Publishing House of Tajikistan, from 1971 to 1977 in the monthly "Voice of the East", from 1977 to 1984 in the monthly "Women of Tajikistan", and then in the newspapers "Mashal", "Children's and Youth Literature", the publishing houses "Irfan" and "Ma'arif", the magazine "Gardener of the East". In 1957, she became a member of the Soviet Writers' Association. Gulchehra wrote poetry mainly for children and youth and is one of the largest speakers of children's poetry in Tajikistan, and sometimes wrote poetry for adults. He has translated and published a number of works by famous orators from Russian into Tajik Persian. Her works include: "Today is Eid" (1957), "Two Plum Stems" (1962), "Narges" (1966), "Carkh and Falak" (1971), "Forty Cockscombs" (1972), "Apple Apricots" (1974), "Marjan Tar" (1975), "Inspiration" (1977), "Arrow and Bow" (1979), "When the Tulips Bloom" (1982), "Sy Chirag" (1988), "Pirahan Chakan" (1989), "Forty Kind Reapers", "Golden Sun", "Baran" (in Russian). Golchehre's poems have been translated and published in Russian, Moldovan, Ukrainian, Uzbek, Belarusian, Turkmen, Czech, and ... languages. Several short stories by this literary lady have also been published in the Tajik press. In 1986, he received the award of the « Order of Friendship of Peoples » , and in 1988, he won the Rudaki Literary Prize and became the People's Poet of Tajikistan.
