The The international scientific conference "Mind Fountain of Magtymguly Pyragy" was held in Ashgabat
On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and classical poet Magtymguly Pyragy, the international scientific conference "Mind Fountain of Magtymguly Pyragy " was held.
The main goal of this scientific forum is to study in depth and popularize the literary and philosophical heritage of this prominent Turkmen poet and to research the relationship amonh the languages and literature of the people of the East.
In this forum, which was attended by the president of Turkmenistan, representatives of the scientific community and experts from foreign countries such as Iran, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Georgia, India, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan , Lithuania, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Russia, Romania, the Republic of Korea, the United States of America, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, as well as the heads and representatives of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and President of ECO Cultural Institute gathered together.
The special importance of the international conference in the field of scientific research on the heritage of Pyragy manuscripts was emphasized in the speeches of foreign representatives. The participants of the conference pointed out its importance in developing humanitarian cooperation, strengthening friendship and brotherhood between people and bringing constructive dialogue to a new level.
As mentioned in the speeches, the greatness of any nation is largely determined by its outstanding and multifaceted personalities. One of these characters was Magtymguly, who is rightfully considered the founder of classical Turkmen literature. The creative heritage of this poet, philanthropist and outstanding thinker of the East has become an integral part of world literature as a precious national treasure.
Pyragy (1724–1807) was a Turkmen spiritual leader, philosophical poet, Sufi, and traveler, considered the most famous figure in Turkmen literary history. He was born in a village near the city of Gonbad-e Qabus in the modern-day province of Golestan, Iran, the northern steppes of which are known as Turkmen Sahra. It was part of the extensive Safavid Empire in the first half of the 18th century. His tomb is also located in Aq-Tuqai village, Golestan Province.
