The third session of the
Negarineh-Khat Calligraphy Course took place on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Diplomatic Library of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI)
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed members from the Calligraphers’ Association and a cohort of students. The ECI’s news portal reports that the session’s focal point was the application of the color wheel in calligraphy.
Calligraphy master Mr. Abbas Rahimi delved into the essence of color, positing that “color is life” and suggesting that a colorless world feels lifeless to humans. The session explored various themes: the employment of irony and allusion in visual storytelling, the synchronization of color, form, and the intrinsic meaning of poetic content, as well as the congruence between text and imagery. Discussions also covered the strategic use of color to impart depth, the infusion of movement into artwork through colored shapes, and the challenges of creating art within the constraints of monochromatic and duotone palettes.
It should be noted that the ‘Negarineh-Khat’ calligraphy course is conducted over eight sessions on Thursdays, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, at the ECI Library.
