ECO Institute is organizing a ceremony to commemorate Master Qutbi Kirom and unveil and review his book Daftar-e Paris ("Poems of Paris").
This ceremony will be held in the name of "Stars of Literature" (Akhtaran-e Adab) on Monday November 4, 2024 in the library of ECI, with the presence and speech of the President of ECI, and the diplomats, researchers and critics from ECO member countries, with the aim to honor the position of this famous Poet.
Master Qutbi Kirom, who is a famous Tajik Poet, has won the highest awards and titles of this country in the field of poetry and literature, and during his fruitful life, he had written several collections of poems and stories, plays and screenplays, and has registered his name in Tajik literature with golden lines.
Master Qutbi Kirom was born in 1932 in Ayni city, Sughd Province of Tajikistan, and graduated from the Dushanbe State College of Teaching. He was a teacher for a while, and then he worked in the magazine of "Sharq-e Sorkh" (or its current name: Seday-e Sharq), and in the Radio and Television Organization of Tajikistan and Irfan Publishing House, and from 1987 until the end of his life (1995) he was the Director of Adib Publishing House.
In order to preserve the memory of this famous Poet and writer, the Government of Tajikistan has named two schools and a street in Dushanbe after him, and his historic house museum was established in his hometown.
Also, every year, the Qutbi Kirom Literary Prize is awarded to a number of poets and researchers. His books " Of Flower, Dust and the Flame of Fire", "Poems of Paris", "The Murder of Tughril" and "The Companion is Coming", have been published in Persian script by Arvan Publishing House in Tehran.
