On the occasion of the International Day of Peace (September 21), I wish to extend my greetings to all peace-loving nations in the region and across the world, with a firm belief in the power of culture.
In a world which is facing with numerous challenges, sustainable peace is not merely achieved through political treaties. Instead, it must takes root in the hearts and minds of people, and this is precisely the role that cultural diplomacy plays. This delicate and vital tool, which is at the same time powerful, builds bridges of friendship and mutual understanding through art, literature, music, and the exchange of our shared heritage.
At the ECO Cultural Institute, we firmly believe that establishing peace is a global responsibility that begins with regional efforts. The countries of the ECO region, with their rich heritage and shared historical and cultural ties, can play a key and inspiring role in this endeavor. By deepening our cultural cooperation and exchanges, we can create a strong foundation for lasting peace.
I hope that by strengthening regional collaborations in cultural fields, we can build a world full of peace, justice, and friendship for future generations.
