The ECO Cultural Institute hosted the opening ceremony of the group exhibition titled “Voices in Color”, featuring paintings and calligraphic works by women artists from Afghanistan and Iran, on Thursday, July 24, 2025 (2 Mordad 1404), at its Diplomatic Conference Hall in Tehran.
This ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
Mr. Sayed Zia Qasemi, renowned Afghan poet and writer, and Mrs. Fahimeh Dehghan, prominent Iranian poet, were the special guests of the event. Both graced the ceremony with poetry recitations.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Saad S. Khan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute, welcomed the guests and stated:
“Art is the shared language of ECO region’s women a language that knows no borders and builds bridges of cultural dialogue, peace, and empathy among nations.”
The next speaker, Dr. Jafar Shiralinia, researcher in history and culture, emphasized the significant role of women in the realm of art across the ECO region.
The exhibition features the works of 24 women artists members of the “Qalam-o” Art Collective from Afghanistan and Iran, showcasing their talents in painting and calligraphy. The exhibition will remain open for one week.
