Acting President of ECO Cultural Institute, Mr. Mehrdad Rakhshandeh met with Mr. Salvador Gutierrez, chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Ms. Najafi, an expert from that organization, on October 1, 2025.
at the beginning of meeting, Mr. Rakhshandeh informed about his cultural work and emphasized on the activities of the ECO Cultural Institute for the ten ECO member states for this year and also next year. Mr. Gutierrez also explained about his international work, especially regarding migration in the region of Iraq and Afghanistan.
The expert of the International Organization for Migration's representative in Iran also expressed his appreciations and gratitude for the former activities of the ECO Cultural Institute with international organizations, especially the International Organization for Migration in Iran, and suggested holding the World "White Cane" Day at the ECI's premises.
It is worth noting that World White Cane Day, October 15 is celebrated every year as World Safety Day for the Blind people. At the end of this meeting, the ECO Cultural Institute, while welcoming the cooperation with the International Organization for Migration Representative Office to hold this important event at its headquarters, has included this program in its 2025 working calendar.
