Tajik theater and cinema actor Ata Muhammadjanov was born on September 2, 1940 in Dushanbe. After graduating from high school in 1958, he was employed as an actor at the State Theater of the Dushanbe Theological Academy. Ata Muhammadjanov's career in cinema began with a small role in the film "Tashbek and Gul-Kurban" based on the work of Mirsaid Mirshakar. His best roles are in the plays "Allama Adham and Others" and "The Reader". He has also created more than 30 roles in Tajik cinema.
Ata Muhammadjanov traveled to Afghanistan in 1964 with the Lahuti Theater Group. He received the USSR High Prize for his role as Amir in the film "Youth of the leader". Since 1961, he has worked in films at the Tajikfilm studio. He has played roles in the films "The Poet's Fate" (1959), "The Flag of Kaveh" (1961), "The Death of the Profiteer" (1964), "The Third Daughter" (1970), "A Star in the Dark Night" (1972), "The Family of Ghivorafs" (1975), "The First Morning of Youth" (1979), "The Hunter from Min Arkhar" (1985), "The Look" (1988), "The Noble Bukhara" (1991), "The Moonlit Father" (1999), etc. Tajik cinema has a deep connection with his name, and he is considered one of the best actors in Tajik cinema and theater.
