The closing ceremony of the 13th Dushanbe International Book Fair was held on Wednesday, October 22, at the National Library of Tajikistan. According to the Khavar News Agency, during this ceremony, activists in the publishing industry and also foreign guests were presented with plaques of appreciation and gifts.
Publishers from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, China and Russia participated in this fair. According to officials from the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan said that the aim of the fair was to introduce books and strengthen and expand Tajikistan's cultural relations with countries around the world. Domestic publishers, including Maarif Publishing House, the National Encyclopedia of Tajikistan, contemporary, literary and mystical publications, participated in the 13th Dushanbe International Book Fair. In the last few years, Tajikistan has taken interesting and useful steps in the field of publishing, including equipping the National Library with ten million books, holding book fairs, announcing the Forough Sobh Dananii competition, giving away free copies of the Shahnameh of Ferdowsi , written by Allameh Babajan Ghafurov, to every Tajik family, and celebrating Book Day.
