The ECO Cultural Institute (ECI) intends to hold an international seminar titled "Book Diplomacy in the Spirit of Iqbal" on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 (Aban 21, 1404), starting at 15:00, at the ECI International Conference Hall. This is held concurrently with the commemoration days of Book and Book Reading Week and aims to strengthen regional cultural ties.
According to the ECI Information Center, the ceremony, which is dedicated to commemorating the 148th birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal Lahori, the renowned Pakistani poet and thinker, will include diverse programs such as: poetry recitation from Iqbal’s Divan, the Launching of the book “Letters of Iqbal to Atiya Begum”, a music performance, and an exhibition of Iqbal’s poetry in calligraphy. In the poetry section of this seminar, prominent poets from ECO member states will participate to enrich the shared cultural bonds of the region through literature.
It is worth mentioning that this ceremony will be held with the presence and participation of other related institutions, including the "Cultural House of I.R. Iran in Rawalpindi, Pakistan," "Iqbal Elementary School in Pakistan," "Allameh Tabataba'i University," "Afghan Literature House," "Ketab Network," "Farhang Radio Network," "Sahar Global Network," "Iran Book and Literature House," and "IBNA and Tasnim News Agencies."
