The final session of the specialized Copperplate style calligraphy course was held on November 20, 2025 (Aban 29, 1404), at the Diplomatic Library of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), attended by Dr. Mehrdad Rakhshandeh ، Acting President of the ECI, and a group of students.
According to the ECI Public Relations Office, the Latin calligraphy course in the Copperplate style, instructed by Master Sattar Mokhles, a distinguished calligrapher and specialist in Latin calligraphy, successfully concluded. The course, aimed at introducing and promoting one of the most exquisite and practical global calligraphy styles, ended after successful instructional sessions and the emergence of a new generation of sophisticated artists.
During the closing session, Dr. Rakhshandeh praised the achievements of Master Mokhles and the students and stating:
"That “the instructionand promotion of arts such as Copperplate transcends mere skill transfer and it leads to the strengthening of the foundations of visual and scriptural refinement. We hope this course serves as the beginning of the creation of lasting and innovative works by this new generation."
Throughout the eight-session program, students underwent a gradual training process and successfully overcame the technical challenges of pen control. The course focused on key principles, including: preserving the authenticity of the Latin script in the Copperplate style, mastering basic movements and strokes, pen-loading and ink management, precise muscle control for executing the fine rules of thickness and thinness, and finally, forming Latin alphabet letters and mastering complex shapes like the oval.
In the final session, Master Mokhles expressed his complete satisfaction with the students' commitment and progress during this gradual process, commending their ability to control the pen and execute the delicate techniques of this art form.
