This valuable 1,000-page work addresses four main categories of words and terms: 1. Forgotten Archaic Words, words that were used in old Persian but have gradually been forgotten and are no longer used in Iran; 2. Words Common in Afghanistan, words that are used in modern Afghanistan but are not only unused in Iran, but are often unfamiliar to Iranian Persian speakers; 3. Words with Different Meanings, words that are currently used in both Iran and Afghanistan, but are employed with two entirely different meanings; and 4. Afghan Loanwords, words borrowed from other languages that have entered Afghan Persian but do not exist in Iranian Persian.
This monumental work was honored as a Commendable Work in the Linguistics section at the 31st edition of the Book of the Year Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
