Launch of the Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Pakistan
The Days of Culture of Tajikistan in Pakistan began on December 18 of this year and will continue until December 24. The program is being held with the participation of Tajik artists, cultural figures, and representatives of Tajik cultural and literary circles in Pakistan.
The opening ceremony of the Days of Culture was attended by Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan.
In Islamabad, a meeting was held between Matlubahkhon Sattarian, Minister of Culture of Tajikistan, and Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Minister of Culture of Pakistan. During the meeting, the two sides, with the aim of expanding cooperation between Tajikistan and Pakistan in the fields of culture and arts, expressed their readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between educational institutions, as well as to train professional specialists and exchange experience.
On the sidelines of the events, a meeting also took place between Matlubahkhon Sattarian and Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan. In addition, the Minister of Culture of Tajikistan met with Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting. During this meeting, various aspects of cooperation were discussed, including the establishment of a joint working group between the ministries to organize future cultural cooperation, training human resources in relevant fields at universities of the two countries, particularly in filmmaking, theatre, and librarianship, the continuation of holding the Days of Culture in both countries, and other related issues.
On the sidelines of these days, an international conference titled “Pakistan and Tajikistan: Two Bodies, One Soul” was held in Islamabad, with the participation and speeches of scholars, poets, and writers from Tajikistan and Pakistan.
