In the lead-up to spring, H.E. Amb. Mohammad Hassan, President of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI), accompanied by H.E. Amb. Asad Majeed Khan, Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and Dr. Rakhshandeh, Executive Director of the Institute, visited the Abbas Abad Cultural and Recreational District to explore its cultural and tourism capacities.
TEHRAN, February 16, 2026 –The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hejazi, CEO of Abbas Abad District, and Dr. Ghashtasb Mozaffari, Head of International Affairs.
The two sides discussed avenues for regional collaboration, focusing on organizing joint art festivals, handicraft exhibitions, and special programs for Nowruz 2026.
The visit aimed to strengthen cultural ties among the citizens of ECO member states, with an emphasis on showcasing the region’s shared heritage and fostering a sense of common identity.
