During the International Navruz celebrations — from March 20 to 25, 2026 — the international tourist train “Jibek Joly” (“Silk Road”) will connect Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan along a single route. This was reported by Khovar News Agency citing the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to the source, the route includes the cities of Almaty, Turkistan, Samarkand, Dushanbe, and Tashkent, with a return to Almaty. The travel program of the international tourist train “Jibek Joly” (“Silk Road”) includes with the culture, traditions, and musical heritage of the peoples of Central Asia.
It is reported that the decision to organize tourist trains between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan was made at the end of 2024. In 2026, for the first time, the project route has been extended to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
