The sorrowful passing of the late Abdolmajid Arfaei, a distinguished Iranian translator and scholar, has plunged the ECO scientific and cultural community into deep mourning.
Dr. Arfaei was among the prominent figures in the field of ancient languages and one of the few Iranian specialists in the reading and translation of Elamite and Akkadian texts. His enduring scholarly efforts in introducing and translating historical documents—particularly his research related to the Achaemenid heritage—played a fundamental role in expanding Iranian studies and fostering a more accurate understanding of the history and civilization of this land. His academic precision, intellectual commitment, and personal humility will remain an inspiring model for future generations of scholars.
On behalf of the ECO Cultural Institute, I extend my sincere condolences to his esteemed family, students, colleagues, and the wider scientific and cultural community of ECO. I pray to Almighty God to grant him eternal peace and to bestow patience and fortitude upon his bereaved loved ones.
May his memory live on.
