Official Statement of the ECO Cultural Institute (ECI)
The ECO Cultural Institute, as an international and regional organization, expresses its strongest condemnation regarding the destruction of cultural heritage and monuments in the Islamic Republic of Iran during the recent terrorist attacks.
These unlawful and immoral actions have not only caused physical and human casualties but have also inflicted irreparable damage upon the cultural, historical, and religious achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which are recognized as an integral part of the cultural heritage of humanity.
The ECO Cultural Institute calls upon UNESCO, as the preeminent international body dedicated to the preservation and protection of global heritage, to take swift and decisive action in response to this grave situation.
In alignment with its mandate to safeguard the cultural heritage of the ECO region—particularly within its host country, the Islamic Republic of Iran—the Institute reaffirms its commitment during these critical moments. The ECI pledges to utilize its full capacity to mobilize regional cooperation toward the restoration and reconstruction of Iran's cultural heritage.
