Documentary “King of the Peaks” Wins International Award
The documentary "King of the Peaks”, produced by the Committee for Television and Radio under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, has won the prestigious “Best Impact Storytelling Award” at the Astana Eco Film Festival 2026. The Committee announced the news to the Khovar News Agency.
The festival was held on the sidelines of the regional environmental summit titled “Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future,” where dozens of films from different countries were screened.
Directed by Osman Yosufov, the film highlights the unique natural beauty of Tajikistan and the protection of the tiger. The international jury and audiences highly praised the film’s strong environmental message, high-quality cinematography, and its important contribution to raising awareness about environmental protection.
It is worth noting that the Astana Eco Film Festival is an international cinematic event held on April 22–23, 2026, as part of a regional environmental summit at the Chaplin Mega Silk Way cinema in Astana, Kazakhstan. The festival aims to draw public attention to global environmental challenges, nature conservation, and biodiversity through the art of cinema.
The festival also serves as a platform where filmmakers, environmentalists, and experts from around the world come together to explore solutions to climate challenges through impactful storytelling.
