A national conference was held in honor of the poet’s 115th anniversary.

Today, on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the People’s Poet of Tajikistan and Hero of Tajikistan, Mirzo Tursunzoda, a group of scholars and researchers laid wreaths at the poet’s resting place to honor his memory. They also visited the Mirzo Tursunzoda House-Museum to pay tribute to his legacy and achievements.
According to Khovar News Agency, citing the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, the participants highlighted Tursunzoda’s significant contributions to the development of Tajik literature, the strengthening of national identity, and the advancement of the country’s cultural and spiritual life. Poems by the poet were also recited during the ceremony.
At the house-museum, scholars became acquainted with the poet’s life, creative activity, valuable works, manuscripts, personal belongings, and historical artifacts related to his legacy.
It was noted that Mirzo Tursunzoda’s literary heritage, as a priceless national treasure, continues to hold great spiritual significance and plays an important role in educating younger generations in the spirit of patriotism, humanism, and respect for national values.
A national scientific and practical conference titled “Mirzo Tursunzoda — National Poet and Global Figure” was also held today at the Presidium Hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan.
The President of the Academy, Qobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, emphasized that Mirzo Tursunzoda holds a special place in the history of Tajik literature and national culture. His literary legacy, encompassing universal human values such as peace, friendship, solidarity, and respect for shared human ideals, remains relevant and continues to guide society toward self-awareness and cultural identity in the modern era.
Tursunzoda’s extensive social and political activities made a significant contribution to strengthening international relations, promoting Tajik culture on the global stage, and fostering peace and unity. Therefore, the study and promotion of his works remain among the key responsibilities of scholars and researchers.
