International Festival "Ushshoqi Rahmoni" Concludes in Khujand
The international festival-competition of Shashmaqom titled "Ushshoqi Rahmoni," held in the city of Khujand to mark "Shashmaqom Day," has concluded with the announcement of the winners. This cultural and artistic event, held from May 10 to 12, 2026, hosted prominent artists and music experts from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kyrgyzstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and France.
 Final Winners of the Festival
After reviewing the performances, the jury announced the competition results as follows:
Grand Prix: The prestigious Grand Prix award was won by the artistic group "Nuri Khujand".
First Place: The State Philharmonic Shashmaqom Ensemble of Tajikistan and the Shashmaqom ensemble of Bukhara jointly secured first place.
Second Place: This rank was awarded to the Shashmaqom ensemble of Fergana and the artist Sardorbek Soliev.
Third Place: The Shashmaqom ensemble of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Navbahor Shamsieva successfully attained third place.
 Significance and Standing of the Festival
The festival was organized with the aim of preserving the authentic music of Shashmaqom and strengthening cultural ties among the nations of the region. The broad participation of artists from various countries—particularly member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO)—demonstrates the high capacity of shared cultural heritage in creating empathy and fostering international interactions.
