As part of the Cultural Days of the Republic of Tajikistan in the Kyrgyz Republic, held from May 18 to 21, 2026, in Bishkek, a scientific and literary conference titled “Tursunzoda and Aitmatov: Heralds of Peace and Friendship” took place.
The event brought together representatives of academic and literary circles from both countries, who discussed the significant role of Mirzo Tursunzoda and Chingiz Aitmatov in strengthening friendship, peace, and mutual understanding among nations.
Participants emphasized that the literary legacy of these two outstanding cultural figures holds a special place in the spiritual and cultural life of Central Asia. Their works are filled with ideas of humanism, spiritual unity, respect for humanity, and dialogue between cultures. It was also noted that the writings of Tursunzoda and Aitmatov continue to unite generations and peoples, reminding society of the noble mission of literature in promoting peace and good neighborly relations.
Special attention was also given to the importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, as well as the need to further strengthen ties among the scientific, literary, and creative communities of the two countries.
The Cultural Days program brings together representatives of culture, art, literature, and cinema, creating favorable conditions for cultural exchange and constructive creative dialogue. The event is regarded as an important step toward strengthening friendly relations and cultural cooperation between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
