Wrestling is a common and proud heritage among the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO); a deep-rooted sport that holds a special place in the culture, identity, and history of the peoples of the ECO region.
From Afghanistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan — wrestling has always been a symbol of strength, chivalry, unity, and national pride. The champions of these countries have shone brightly in world and Olympic arenas for many years.
We congratulate World Wrestling Day to all the champions, veterans, coaches, referees, and enthusiasts of this sport in the ECO countries; athletes who, through their effort, heroic ethics, and spirit of fair competition, inspire future generations and keep the flag of friendship and solidarity among the nations of the region flying high.
We hope that wrestling continues to be a bridge for bringing nations together, promoting peace, mutual respect, and strengthening cultural and sports cooperation in the ECO region.
