The second meeting of the "ECO National Libraries Expert Committee" was held online on June 16, 2026, hosted by the National Library of Turkey, with the participation of representatives from the ECO Cultural Institute and experts from the libraries of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan.
In this session, members of the "ECO Digital Library Committee," the "Education and Research Committee," and the "Preservation, Manuscripts and Rare Books Committee" presented their views and reports on the key themes of the meeting, including: national priorities in the committee's specialized fields, ongoing projects and digital initiatives, areas where expertise can be shared, and areas requiring cooperation or joint support.
Ms. Zahra Aslani and Ms. Firouzeh Mohammadinia attended this symposium on behalf of the ECO Cultural Institute, and while emphasizing the strengthening of cultural diplomacy and the preservation of the region's written heritage, they expressed their appreciation at the end. Furthermore, the participants discussed the next date for this meeting and it was decided that the final date would be determined after receiving the views of the member states.
This virtual meeting, which provided a valuable opportunity for knowledge exchange among the region's book experts, finally concluded by emphasizing the continuation of cooperation to preserve and promote the common culture and civilization of the member states, as well as the implementation of the proposed solutions.
